Senior Sunday at FBC!

Trinity/FBC Seniors

Today began a whirlwind of Senior activity for the last little Fain graduate! Senior Sunday at church has always been an exciting event--it begins in the Youth Center where all the families of seniors gather for breakfast and a major photo op! After Sunday School, they line up for the church service where they are each introduced and walk down the aisle to meet Jay, our pastor, and receive their gift. This group was given a small leather bound Bible that can be engraved with their name--perfect size to carry everywhere. During this time, many moms are getting teary-eyed and most of us remembered to bring our hankies just in case! The graduates line up in the aisles of the church after they receive their gift and then there's my favorite part---everyone who has worked with/taught/changed diapers and rocked them in the nursery/gone to youth camp/or any other church event is offered the opportunity to gather around and "lay hands" on a student. Stuart, our youth minister offers a prayer--this is a VERY touching moment in the service. Jay preached a wonderful sermon encouraging these seniors to let Christ guide them in all their decisions. After the service, we headed to the fellowship hall for lunch and the long awaited Senior Video! Everyone sends in about five pictures of their child with family and friends, and these are compliled into the video. There is much joy, laughter and some tears when watching how these young men and women have grown. Next event: Trinity Senior Video on Thursday...

The busy life!

The "SUPER SENIORS"

Camellia Ball

Jack and his cute prom date.

At the dinner before prom.

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy--mostly thanks to Baby Jack. I love a busy life--can't imagine what I'll do next year, but I'm sure God has a plan!

Senior prom was the first of the events! Twenty four beautiful and handsome seniors enjoyed dinner at one of the senior girls homes before hopping on the "party bus" headed to the RSA Plaza Terrace for the dance!

The next weekend was "Camellia Ball"--a fun dance where girls invite boys hosted by a group of tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade parents. Jack had a blast and danced the night away as evidenced by his "dripping wet" shirt at the end of the evening.

And, as if that wasn't enough, the Trinity baseball team is having an incredible season!! They have made it through the second round of the playoffs--"Baby Jack" hit his first homerun ever in the second round against an area opponent who happened to be ranked #1 in the state! Go Wildcats!

The last two weeks...

Jack performed as the last Fain in the Trinity school play last week--there was so much talent for a group of high school kids... It is hard to believe these "babies" are fixing to graduate and go off to their respective colleges. This is Jack with his dance partner, Jessica. They were great in their "swing" dance! He actually had a "crush" on Jessica when they were in kindergarten--which seems like yesterday...

Then we were off to the beach for the final/senior annual baseball tournament. This included three days of rainy weather before the boys were able to take the field--they played great and all us fans had fun. Another "last"...
Baby Campbell and mommy Lizzie were able to go to the beach with us. Campbell LOVED everything about the beach. We plopped her down in the sand and she just played. We put her in the indoor pool and she thought she could swim! Fun, fun fun!

Well, I thought I should join the "blogging" world , eventhough writing is one of my least favorite things. I just want to be sure that this world of technology doesn't pass me by! (and to keep up with my kids...)
So, from school, to baseball games to the school play, I thought I would just write about the activities of a mom/teacher/and grannnie!
